Skin Food Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek in Pomegranate

The mall that I work at recently opened a Skin Food store! While perusing the aisles I came across these two-in-one lip and cheek balms… tints… stains… thingies…

I feel like the title of this product is missing a word. xD Lip and cheek what? Y U NO MAKE SENSE MAKEUP?! Whatever these are, they’re perfect for exactly what they claim to be for. I bought this on a whim so I didn’t know what to expect. Although the Skin Food store did have testers I only swatched a few on the back of my hand. Pomegranate suited my NC30-35 skin the best.

Packaging: So. flippin. CUUUTE. This little tin may not be the most hygienic, but it’s soooooo friggin’ cute!! This also may not be the most dependable packaging in hot weather. Because the cover is a slide on, it won’t keep the product inside the tin if it happens to melt.

Color: I love how Pomegranate gives me this naturally flushed look on the cheeks. It’s a subtle deep pink shade that I’ve been wearing alot lately. I’m still debating whether I like it on the lips though. Don’t get me wrong, I love the finish. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t dry my lips out. But the undertones in the pink make my teeth look a bit yellow. I’m working around that though. ^^

Finish: In the tin the product looks glossy but definitely doesn’t come across as shiny on the skin. I have very dry skin so that may affect the amount of sheen the product gives off. The balm-y consistency makes for a very smooth application so it’s definitely easy to work with.

Smell: I adore the scent! It’s fresh, light, and sweet. Usually I get headaches from really strong floral or fruity scents but this smell is far from that. If you happen to dislike scented products in general, no worries because the smell dissipates after a few seconds.

Price: Gah, stupid me! x_x In the store this retails for around $13 but as I was looking for other shades on ebay I found that most sold for about $9.98. I would definitely repurchase these, but not for 13 bucks a pop.

Final thoughts: I will definitely continue using this. I’m going to look into other shades like Lychee and Grapefruit. Wah~ my collection of Skin Food products begins!

P.S. I almost forgot! At the Skin Food store the saleswomen were handing out free samples. I got a Rice Mask and Black Sugar Mask. With my purchase I got a Lettuce and Cucumber Water Drop Essence packet. Just thought I should let you know. :3

*sigh* I found the perfect MLBB shade yesterday at K-mart. *sigh* And it was buy one get one 50% off. *sigh* Why so glum then, you might ask?

T__T Because I lost it at work! Somewhere out there my poor little lippie is rolling around in the stinky abyss of mall footwear calling out to me, “Rooose… ROOOSSEE… why did you do this to meeeee?”

I really do hope it’s sitting in my work cubby. I’m hoping it fell out of my purse and is nestled nicely between to-go bags and receipts. If it fell out of my purse while I was on my break.. or even worse on the bus… *sigh* I might as well give up.

C’est la vie. Here’s to finding it. :/
